Sketches + Studies 01

First to all, I wanted to show some of the sketches I drew in San Francisco, the first one drawn on the plane and the others in the sketching sessions.

And finally, the day of the portfolio reviews. I was listening the talk about the industry by Marko, Coro and others before the lines for the reviews started.

WorkshopSF – 3rd Day

Sorry for the delay, but I was busy. I’m writing about the two last days of the workshop while I’m waiting for my flight at the International Airport San Francisco.

In the morning of the first day I was watching the live demo by Aleksi Briclot. It was the first time I saw his process of painting and had some surprises, really interesting.

I also wanted to go the classrom to hear the class about perspective by Carl Dobsky but again, you know, I can’t split my body.

WorkshopSF – 2nd Day

Another awesome day in San Francisco.

At the morning I went to the live demos stage. Wes and Daniel C started painting characters but Nox was late. I really wanted  to see Nox painting but it was a big surprise to me who replaced him: Dave Rapoza. I could talk to him later and he’s such a nice guy.

WorkshopSF – 1st Day

I didn’t write anything about the day before but I could meet some artists staying at the same hotel, have a sketch session together and dinner. Everyone was amazing, and for me that in some way just started last year with digital painting was a bit embarrassing showing my portfolio. They even liked more my work with games but come on, just give me some time.

Then the first day of the event I could go the way to SOMArts with one of the people I met the day before. I could enter the event before others because I was awesome! (not really, just paid a little more to get the awesome package haha)

Seeing all those top artists in front of me was very impressive.

Workshop SF

Getting ready for my travel to San Francisco. I’m so excited thinking about the idea of learning from some of my favorite artists.

WorkshopSF is an event designed by artists for artists that takes place in the SOMArts, San Francisco between November 19-22. Top Creative Professionals from the worlds of Entertainment, Film, Games, Comics and Fine Art come together to share their techniques and idead. The event is geared to instruct and inspire students and professionals alike.

WorkshopSF will include live demonstrations: digital and traditional, figure painting and drawing, lectures on design, storytelling for comic books, portfolio reviews and much more.

This year I’ve been practicing digital painting by myself, trying to not only improve my skills with photoshop but being creative and increasing my knowledges of art & design. I put a lot of effort but WorkshopSF is going to be the most inspiring thing to me this year.

I’m a bit nervous about the last day, for the portfolio review and job fair but I’ll do my best.
